Went to the Holiday Pickle Fest here today. The Facebook page and Eventbrite made this event sound awesome..... it was FAR from awesome. I'm very disappointed. A handful of pickle vendors and the rest were vendors selling everything from lingerie to old beanie babies. Not a very big event either. If you like to drink...lots of alcohol options.Best food truck they had was Cousins Maine Lobster truck ..it was the best thing about this event. I can't believe they even charge for tickets to come... it should be free... we went thru the entire thing in 30 minutes.
Also.... if it's a holiday event... have holiday music.. not some horrible band trying to play rock music.
If you want a REAL pickle event that's FREE... go to Picklesburgh in Pittsburgh...

Wonderful place! A place that can hold a BIG event like the Interstate Wine Fest today, from 11am to 5pm. I was volunteering for the Blue Mountain Wine Crafters. Got to look around, sample some wine, eat a bit of food.
But enough of that, the AG place is more a huge place that has room for all farming, mostly learning about farming. There is a museum there that tells the history of this fine county, and a place to grow.

I have to say, the shining star of today's Beer Fest was a mead. A Fish Hunter mead, to be exact. Peppery and spicy with sweet notes of honey, you can't go wrong. I was as surprised by Orchid Cellers as most. But was pleasantly delighted nonetheless! Orchid Cellars, you rock!

I just wish it was called something like Pepper Hunter!

We (Voodoo Chile Sauces) have a booth at the ShamROCK'd beer festival every year, sharing our bacon and craft beer hot sauces with those who are interested. A very nicely run event!!
