I had a very vague concept of what I wanted for my backyard re-do. Michael O’Connell, with O’Connell Landscaping, met with me several times to get an idea as to my future plans with my yard. He came up with a plan that outlined what I wanted, was within the budget I set, and perfectly matched the surrounding areas of our family property. Prior to the commencement of work, Michael and I met several times to review the plans to ensure a smooth start to the project.

During the project, Ruben and Ubaldo were there every day! They were friendly and answered all my questions. The attention to detail was amazing to watch as the work progressed.

My project took 3 months, and it was seamless. My yard is beautiful, and I feel I’ve added another room to my house.

O'Connell Landscape worked with us on a complete re-do of our large backyard. We had done some preliminary work on the yard when we bought our house, but it needed a lot. We interviewed several companies, and were given huge numbers to complete our project. Finally, we met Michael O'Connell and he gave us the most honest assessment of our design plan and budget. He told us unequivocally that our design expectations far out-reached our budget. We so appreciated his straight-forward and honest approach. As a result, we began working with him on modifying our plans to meet our budget while prioritizing what was most important to us. Michael made this process seamless by providing lists of items to prioritize to get us where we needed to get. It would have been so overwhelming without his organization tools and calm demeanor. We were able to re-design and begin work in an efficient timeframe. Once work began, there were absolutely NO surprises. Michael's cost estimates and timeframes were met. Michael was engaged in the project at all times and available for questions, and on occasion minor changes or add-ons to the project. From start to finish O’Connell Landscape delivered the best residential landscaping project we’ve ever experienced. Michael listened carefully to what we wanted for our sloped backyard in Cotati, then provided a beautiful, thorough plan - that also was adaptable when necessary. As retired people at home watching crew leader Ruben and his men working diligently every day, we saw the thoroughness, and precision, in their work as well. It was clear that Michael, Ruben and the crew were communicating about the project, making sure everyone was on the same page. The paved patio they did for us looks amazing. And Michael’s plant choices were spot on. Also, during all phases of the project Michael responded quickly and courteously to any of our questions/concerns - which were all relatively minor because it’s clear that he and Ruben have a lot of landscaping experience between them. We felt confidence in them, could relax while they did the job, and now we have a charming backyard to enjoy!

O’Connell Landscape did a complete landscaping of our back yard, and in the front yard built a beautiful side fence, added a new driveway and walkways around the house. Working with O’Connell Landscape to complete our back yard renovation was an incredible experience through and through. Michael and his team at O'Connell Landscaping recently finished a project to transform our dirt backyard into something we can enjoy. From a rough initial concept to a completed yard with plantings, pavers, pathing and even a pergola, the team did incredible work across the board from start to finish.

Everything was approached with professionalism and courtesy. Michael's design insights helped us make the most of the space (even going through several iterations) and he managed the project extremely well once we got started. We received weekly updates, things went according to schedule, the crew was on site every day, and most importantly when little snags did come up we were always kept in the loop so we never felt surprised. The core crew members for our project (Ubaldo and Edgar) were meticulous in every detail. The whole team made it very easy to not fret and just watch the project go through its stages.

Our experience with O'Connell Landscaping was great. The end result is something we will enjoy for years to come. So long as we live in this area, O'Connell Landscaping will be our go-to outfit for any future landscaping projects.
