My hearing started punctually and finished quickly--less than 20 minutes (though my case was straightforward). The judge was professional, efficient, and fair. And I received the decision in the mail only 3 days after the hearing. If only more government agencies were this efficient!

Called there to find information on my hearing. The lady I spoke to kept interrupting me when I was trying to tell her that she kept putting me on hold and it would mix up with another caller. She gave me an attitude because she was mixing my calls. Get better receptionists please

I called to get assistance on how to arrange the whole situation with overpayment and how to appeal. The woman that answered the phone said that she suggested I call back because they couldn’t help me with my situation. And that if I want to appeal, that I had to show up to my hearing. I lost my job and had recently found one. The whole is situation that was I was receding “unemployment”. But now I am employed with a new employer and you want me to take time off. And when calling to reschedule all the person on the other end says, well you’ll miss it and not give you any assistance to address the situation. Awful, quit your job and stop taking taxpayers money if you are not doing the job right.

This is the most unprofessional government ran place I’ve spoken with. The people that answer are rude and talk over you. They give you attitude and smart remarks. Typical government employees that think they’re above people. Per usual, they’ll always get away with it and it’s disgusting.

Employer discriminated, got denied a subpoena, the government workers lied in their reports, government lawyers still lie about Hispanics and do not want to honor the legal rights in this state agency. So I sued and won and still suing for the agency and their board members to honor my legal rights because they do not care about ethnic minorities' at all, especially Latinos/Hispanics, we are the target, fyi.

So, after a problem with the EDD and mistakes made by a previous employer, I appealed an unjust arbitrary EDD ruling. The "judge" listened but refused to hear why I didn't appeal a more than a year ago when the "window was open to appeal". (I wasn't notified by the EDD and had been working full time for 4 years with zero reason to open a claim or check on a previous claim). When given proof of the mistake and shown a history of no previous problems, I was still denied due to "not appealing within the appropriate time frame". Mind you he even admitted that the EDD failed to show, and basically had his mind made up before I even arrived. It was a huge waste of both of our time, and I pity anyone who must slog through the EDD bureaucracy of inertia staffed by simpletons.
