Thanks to Jake and his amazing staff of workers. Our backyard was transformed from a dirt/ mud pit into an amazing place to hang out and entertain. We had several bids, most were higher, some lower, but we just got a good vibe from Jake. Work was started and completed way faster than we could have imagined. I had a great experience working with California Exteriors. They made my backyard into a beautiful and fully functional space. I explained what I wanted to Jake and he made it happen. He is very knowledgeable and can help you select the accurate size plants for your space including how much sun/shade is received. The overall crew was efficient, professional, and very skilled at their craft. California Exteriors will make your yard look exceptional. Very pleased with my front and backyard!

Would not refer or use again for concrete work.
Overall we are not happy with the work and customer service that followed after the work was done. We had them do 4 concrete pads, mow strip in our backyard, and a driveway addition.

Jake came off very friendly and knowledgeable. Price seemed reasonable and work started on time and on schedule. Sadly we just were not happy with the outcome of the concrete pads and mow strip as it had a very rough finish. The driveway addition also had a few imperfections where it looked like something rolled over the new concrete in a couple spots around the edges. And our irrigation was left cut.

Driveway: After accusing us of damaging the new concrete, Jake sent his dad Ken out to look. After reviewing our doorbell camera it appeared their worker rolled over the new concrete when wheeling our garbage cans around to use them as a barrier to tape off the area. They attempted to “polish” these spots but you’ll see it actually probably looks worse now (see pics). The driveway issues were small, but avoidable had they been more careful.

Irrigation: After further review of the driveway addition, we also noticed they simply cut our irrigation and just left it cut. It took about a week before I noticed plants were dying. This was something I brought up specifically before hiring CE and was assured relocating the irrigation was part of the scope. Jake sent someone to repair this as well. They simply pulled up the irrigation and attached new tubing, while leaving it all exposed (see pics).

Concrete Pads/Mow Strip: As mentioned above the concrete pads and mow strip had a very rough finish. Ken agreed but only offered to repour 2 of the 4 pads. We had concerns about only doing 2 of the 4 pads and the differences that would be obvious, and requested all 4 pads be re-poured. They declined our request and only re-poured 2 of the 4 pads. You’ll see from the pictures we now have 4 pads that look like they were done at separate times by 2 different people. The 2 original pads still have a very rough finish and are lighter in color, while the 2 new ones actually came out quite nice, are much smoother, but are darker in color. The mow strip they were less concerned about and so were we to be honest.

Im in the customer service industry and feel like we are pretty patient and understanding people. I also feel if this same work was done at their own house, they would not be happy with it as well.
Overall from our experience it felt like a “blow and go” service. They attempted to make corrections after our concerns were brought up but only so far. Jake was prompt to reply initially and get his Dad out. But after they did their version of repairs, they were done. Ken was supposed to make another trip out to look at the concrete pads again but never did and I was tired of following up.

California Exteriors Incorporated Is an AMAZING company to work with. We are so incredibly happy with Our experience with them.
We spoke with a few different companies when We started looking for bids. Other companies would take forever to respond or just leave Us hanging with no response. We had a small project on Our front side yard that was somewhat difficult to deal with because of utilities that run through the area.
Other companies bid the project at ridiculous prices because of the utilities. California Exteriors gave Us a fair bid and was not afraid of the project. Jake was great at keeping Us informed and up to date on project information. If I ever needed to ask him anything he would respond within minutes. He is such a nice man. His crew was hardworking and I appreciate everything they did to make Our vision of the landscape a reality.

I couldn't be happier with the work California Exteriors did on my backyard! They poured the concrete and built a retaining wall, and the results are absolutely stunning. The stamped concrete adds a beautiful touch and has completely transformed my small yard into a stylish outdoor space.
