We came here for brunch as I saw they had shrimp and we had a craving for them. Unfortunately, these were about the worst shrimp I've ever had because they were covered in some kind of thick slime that made them so slippery they were difficult to peel. It was like a thick mucus and I have no clue what it was but I definitely do not recommend ordering them. I lived at the ocean for a few years and have eaten shrimp hundreds of times and have no clue what they did to make them slimy like this. They did not taste like they were old or had turned or anything like that, but the flavor didn't even taste like shrimp or old bay which the menu said they were boiled in, and just kind of had some sort of mild spice flavor and that was it. We sat on the patio and the atmosphere and scenery was great, but the service was not. We sat there with empty beer glasses and then apparently a shift changed happened and once the other girl came around we just told her we would take the check and go somewhere else as we were waiting on two other people to get there. As soon as they arrived we all left and went elsewhere. I will try this place again in the future when we come back to visit as it is across the road from our family members' house, but I definitely will not be ordering the shrimp and will hope that the shift change is the reason for the beat lack of attention and having to go find our own server.

John was a wonderful waiter! Funny and attentive! Great mushroom Swiss burger n white sangria. My husband got coconut shrimp and loved it. Our son got a hot dog with chili n cheese. Excellent food and service

We are frequent customers of Bonifay CC. We've never had a bad meal, and are happy with the food and the service. On this visit our sever, Sandy, did an excellent job of taking care of us and steering us to menu items that fit our schedule given how busy the restaurant was. Nice job, Sandy. A very pleasant dining experience.

Always a great dinner at Bonifay, never a bad dish. Our wonderful server Holly had the whole table laughing and was very attentive to our needs! With the confident online booking our large party is able to get in and seated in a manner of minutes, no waiting required.

When bringing orders to the table, the waiter brought all the wrong entrees to the table. When the correct food was brought, salads were missing dressing and proteins. Hot dishes and salads were brought out at the same time, where salads should have come out prior to the dinners. The Chili was the worst I’ve ever had. The meat was so pulverized it was like sawdust. Like many other restaurants in the Villages, they have a captive clientele, so they don’t really need to supply a decent product or service.

Unfortunately, Bonifay has gone downhill very quickly over the summer season. The bartenders are overwhelmed, there are not enough servers to handle a busy night, and the kitchen is starting to short takeout orders. The photo attached to this review is the $20 "Halfway to St Patrick's Day" special in an 8" takeout container. About 3 ounces of corned beef, 2-2" diameter boiled red potatoes, 1/8 cup of canned carrots, and about 1/4 cup boiled cabbage stem end pieces. If you order the same for dine in, you receive a much bigger and better portion. My suggestion: sit at the bar, order a dinner or two, enjoy a drink while you wait, box your dinner(s) up when you receive it(them), tip your bartender well (it's not their fault!), and go home to enjoy your dinner.

Megan the bar tender is a gem and a great person, she always takes good care of us. Also missy on the floor is always spot on. And john, love them all.
